We are doing a birthday party earlier in the evening, and thought the songs were so good that we should make this a public event, too! So we’re going to Finnegan’s right afterward to send you our 80’s favorites.
(Also, we’re doing “We Are the World”, so if you want a verse, get in there)
Sting’s music started with The Police, a punk-reggae trio that exploded onto the scene with melodic, aggressive drums, intricate and thoughtful guitar work, and a bass player/vocalist with an unusually high vocal range.
His chord progressions and melodies are uniquely creative, and, in his solo work, expressed his music in many other ways.
Sting’s influence still resonates strongly in our community’s expressions, and we hope to educate you in the ways he has educated us.
The Hoboken music community is excited to share their interpretation of this music that has made such an impact on the world.
Since we are celebrating the music of Sting at Sinatra Park, we should also continue by doing the music of the Police right across the street at House of Que.
This joint has great food, great staff, and a great stage to enjoy the performances of the musicians in our community.
